YSE Gold: The Beautiful Investment You Can Wear
Dear Gold Investor,
Jewelry is beautiful, gold has investment potential, and turning it into jewelry often adds a hefty premium, so I created YSE Gold, the beautiful investment you can wear, with custom craftsmanship and YSE stones at gold value plus 30%: Text Pastor Vogel at 603-293-6074 right now and tell me what you want made.
Wear the beauty. Own the gold. Support the mission.
Text me “YSE GOLD” right now if you want gold jewelry made to order, or “DEALER” if you want to help sell it.
Tell me your idea and your budget.
We can discuss one chain, several chains, a cross, or a coordinated collection, with YSE stones included in the agreed design. Our minimum order is $10,000, and our pricing promise is straightforward: the spot value of the actual gold contained in your finished jewelry, plus 30%.
I want your attention, but I intend to earn your trust.
Imagine opening a jewelry box and lifting out a substantial gold chain. You feel its weight before you fasten it. Then the cross catches the light, and the YSE stones answer with flashes of rainbow color. You have something beautiful to wear, something meaningful to give, and an amount of gold you can actually calculate.
That is the idea behind YSE Gold.
The investment you can wear on your neck.
But a beautiful idea deserves an honest explanation. Before I ask you to buy, I want you to understand the gold, the craftsmanship, the stones, the mission, and the premium. You should enjoy the finished piece because you love it and understand it.
YSE is pronounced ICE.
The story began with beauty. I wanted a brand that could capture the excitement of a magnificent stone without asking customers to accept an investment fairy tale. I wanted jewelry that could say “I love you,” express faith, or celebrate an achievement with a little more imagination.
YSE.jewelry has been a work in progress, and it will keep getting better.
Building it has meant refining how we present the brand, its designs, its offers, and the experience of choosing a piece. A website can improve with every thoughtful revision. The promise behind it should be clear from the beginning.
YSE.jewelry is for loving your woman.
YSE.gold is created for investors who also love beautiful jewelry. The purpose is to bring the gold calculation into the conversation, alongside the pleasure of owning and wearing the piece.
One brand can speak to both the heart and the person checking the numbers.
Our YSE stones are laboratory-grown. I love their brilliance and rainbow fire, but I cannot honestly tell you to invest in something I can grow. I am selling the beauty of those stones, not a claim that they are scarce assets destined to appreciate.
The gold supplies the measurable metal value.
The YSE stones supply an essential part of the brand’s personality. Every piece in this offering will contain YSE stones, with their number, size, carat weight, and placement determined during the design conversation. A chain may carry its YSE signature through an integrated detail or accompanying pendant; a cross may feature a more prominent arrangement.
The design should make the stones feel intentional.
Think of her turning a ring toward the light, then turning it again because another color appears. That little moment is why people buy beautiful jewelry.
With YSE Gold, I want the same pleasure supported by a clear understanding of what the gold contributes to the purchase.
Now let us talk about making it.
A handmade chain involves much more than melting gold and attaching a clasp. Depending on the style, the work can include preparing the alloy, rolling metal, drawing wire, forming and cutting links, assembling them, joining them, annealing when needed, and finishing the surfaces.
Each stage affects the next.
The links must move together, feel comfortable, and hold securely.
A rope chain, a Cuban link, and a box chain present different construction challenges. The proportions matter. The connections matter. So does the clasp, because a beautiful piece still has to perform its job when you wear it.
We offer chains of different types made to order, with the construction method agreed before production.
Some styles involve substantial hand assembly and finishing; others use specialized machinery as part of the process. “Made to order” means produced to your agreed specifications. It should not be confused with a claim that every component of every style is entirely handmade.
Crosses are made to order too.
One customer may want a clean, substantial gold cross with a restrained YSE accent. Another may want a more elaborate arrangement of stones. We begin with the design, dimensions, intended weight, metal purity, and setting, then determine what can be made within the agreed order.
You can order one chain, multiple chains, one cross, or several coordinated pieces.
The karat choice matters because it changes both the gold content and the properties of the metal. Fourteen-karat gold is 14 parts gold out of 24, approximately 58.3%. Eighteen-karat gold is 18 parts out of 24, or 75%. Twenty-four-karat gold is pure gold and softer, so its suitability depends particularly on the design and intended wear.
That is why the weight of the jewelry and the weight of its pure gold are different numbers.
A piece containing 100 grams of 18-karat gold alloy contains approximately 75 grams of pure gold, excluding stones and other components from that metal-weight calculation. Its gold value is calculated from those 75 grams and the agreed spot quotation. We do not price every gram of an 18-karat piece as pure gold.
Our promise is spot value of the contained gold, plus 30%.
We guarantee that pricing formula for the agreed YSE Gold Jewelry order, with the quote identifying the spot-price source, when the price is fixed, and how the finished gold content is calculated. The included YSE stones, agreed custom work, and mission contribution sit within that premium. Applicable taxes and shipping are identified separately.
The minimum order is $10,000.
At gold value plus 30%, a $10,000 jewelry order represents approximately $7,692.31 in contained gold value and $2,307.69 in premium, before separately stated taxes and shipping. It would be incorrect to call that $7,000 in gold: adding 30% to $7,000 produces $9,100.
The arithmetic is part of the promise.
Now comes the part that makes this brand especially personal to me.
Five cents of every dollar of the gross jewelry sale price, excluding taxes and shipping, goes to charity. For wedding rings, we double our pledge to ten cents. My commitment is to Paul Hutchinson’s Saving Children mission, and that contribution is included within our pricing.
The mission contribution is included in the price.
On a $10,000 gold jewelry sale, $500 is committed to the mission. After the approximately $7,692 in gold value and the $500 contribution, about $1,808 remains for the included stones, manufacturing, other materials, overhead, any sales commission, and profit.
That is a close operating envelope.
For another illustration, $10,000 in contained gold value produces a $13,000 jewelry price. The mission receives $650, leaving $2,350 beyond the gold value for everything else. The 30% premium is not a 30% profit, and the charitable commitment is not an extra charge.
The work and the mission have to fit inside the promise.
Manufacturing also requires careful accounting for metal. Chain production can generate offcuts, filings, polishing residues, and other process material. Much of that material may be recoverable; any unrecovered loss needs to be distinguished from recoverable scrap rather than treated as an unexplained disappearance.
Cross production can generate scrap or loss too.
We will disclose any small, actual unrecovered manufacturing loss associated with your order. Our contained-gold pricing must reflect the finished piece, and any agreed treatment of manufacturing loss must appear plainly in the quote. Hidden charges would undermine the reason for offering a transparent formula.
Is 30% a substantial premium for investing in gold?
Yes, particularly when compared with buying straightforward bullion.
You can buy gold products at premiums below 30%, and if your only objective is metal exposure, you should compare those alternatives. YSE Gold offers something additional: custom jewelry, included YSE stones (remember the stones are included in the 30% premium making this a spectacular offer), the pleasure of wearing it, and a mission contribution.
The World Gold Council’s investor guidance likewise notes that investment-jewelry premiums can be significantly higher than those on bars or coins.
As a jewelry offer, I believe that package makes the premium compelling.
That is a value judgment about what we include, not a claim that every competing jeweler charges more. A thoughtful buyer can compare like-for-like weight, purity, construction, stones, and service. I welcome that comparison because it keeps the conversation grounded in the piece.
The investment question still deserves its own answer.
If you pay $13,000 for jewelry containing $10,000 worth of gold, the metal must rise 30% just to equal your purchase price, assuming the quantity remains unchanged and ignoring selling costs.
The pleasure of wearing it does not erase the premium.
It does give you a reason to consider jewelry when you already want both the gold and the finished creation. Picture choosing a substantial chain because you enjoy its design, understand its weight, and intend to keep wearing it.
Those are real benefits, even though they do not guarantee a financial return.
Now let me tell you why I take these distinctions seriously.
In the 1990s, I made my living as an expert witness in criminal fraud cases. My work required looking beyond an impressive presentation and examining what was actually being sold. That experience shaped how I think about price, value, and the responsibility attached to investment language.
A dealer charging a markup is not automatically committing a crime.
Fraud involves more than a high price. In United States v. Kail, 804 F.2d 441 (8th Cir. 1986), the court affirmed mail-fraud convictions involving rare-coin sales and intentional false representations about market value. The lesson is that calling something an investment does not excuse deception about what the buyer receives.
Our 30% formula is a pricing commitment for the YSE.GOLD brand.
That experience shaped my approach to YSE.GOLD: explain the gold value, disclose the 30% premium, and show the buyer exactly what is included.
The FTC’s Jewelry Guides address accurate representations about jewelry, including precious-metal content and gemstones. Back when I did expert witness work, I learned how closely an investment claim must be examined when a substantial markup separates the selling price from the underlying value.
When does a markup on an INVESTMENT cross the line?
“Back when I did expert witness work, my understanding was that the FTC scrutinized rare-coin dealers promoting coins as investments when the markup exceeded 35%. I understood that as an enforcement guideline, not a law.”
$15,000 Gold
That is my personal, speculative prediction, without a promised deadline.
It is not a forecast from the FTC or the World Gold Council, and it could be wrong. I want to discuss its potential with enthusiasm while keeping the distinction between a possible future and a reliable purchase decision.
Consider a deliberately hypothetical illustration.
If someone acquired gold when spot was $5,000 per ounce and it later reached $15,000, the metal price would have tripled. That $5,000 starting point is an illustration, not a statement of today’s price. A jewelry purchase at a 30% premium would have a different return from the underlying gold.
For $100,000 in contained gold value, the YSE price would be $130,000.
If that same gold later became worth $300,000, the increase over the $130,000 purchase price would be $170,000, approximately 130.8%, before taxes, selling costs, and any buyer discount. That is conditional arithmetic under an assumed scenario, not a projected customer return.
The upside can be exciting without being certain.
For historical context, the World Gold Council reports that gold’s compounded annual return in U.S. dollars from 1971 through 2023 was approximately 8%, compared with approximately 4% for U.S. consumer-price inflation. That is a long historical period, not a promise about your holding period or your jewelry’s resale performance.
The size of the purchase should make sense for your life.
A billionaire might consider a $1 million jewelry purchase affordable and enjoy wearing an extraordinary creation. Someone with $2 million in net worth faces different tradeoffs: $100,000 in contained gold at our formula means a $130,000 jewelry purchase, or 6.5% of that stated net worth. Those are illustrations, not allocation recommendations.
Accredited-investor status does not make a purchase suitable or protect it from loss.
If you understand those considerations and want something beautiful made, you can buy directly from my family firm.
